Note: These are just suggestions for what scouts should pack and how to pack it. This list is based on a
two night stay. If you are staying for more or less time you may have to add or remove items from your

MARK ALL CLOTHING WITH YOUR NAME ** All Medications should be in their original containers and given to the troop leader or other adult in charge. Exceptions may be made for inhalers and epi pens. See leader for more specific information.

There really is no right or wrong way to pack your bag as long as you fit it all in. It helps to keep
your bag neat and organized. First layout your outfits. Take one pair of pants, long sleeve and
short sleeve shirt and lay them on top of each other. Then roll them together tightly. This keeps
your outfits organized for the day, keeps your clothes from wrinkling, and makes packing easy..



Note: This list is just a suggestion. It is not
the only way or even best way to pack your
bag. As you spend more time camping you will
move things around to better suit your needs.
A. Front Pocket: Pen/Pencil, Notebook,
Handbook, Maps, Wallet
B. Upper Left Pocket: Water bottle, Rain
gear, work gloves
C. Upper Right Pocket: Personal Hygiene Kit –
soap, toothbrush, deodorant, brush,
sunscreen, etc.
D. Upper Compartment: Clothing – Pants,
shirts, PJ’s, swimsuit, socks, underclothes,
towels.
E. Lower Compartment: Hiking boots, extra
shoes (in a plastic bag)
F. Lower Left Pocket: Mess kit, eating
utensils, waterproof matches.
G. Lower Right Pocket: Flashlight, camera,
batteries, Ziploc bags, dunk bag.
H. Sleeping Gear – Small pillow and light
weight blanket rolled inside your sleeping
bag, or sleeping pad.
Clip to the outside of your pack or carry in
your pocket:
Compass and pocket knife
To make carrying your bag easier, pack heavy
items closest to your body and towards to
top of the pack. Put the lighter items
toward the bottom and away from your body.
