Leader’s Notes for “Outdoor Cook” and “Camp Together” Badges
Meeting: Tuesday, July 29, 2008
Opening: Say the Girl Scout Promise, then the motto, “Be Prepared.”
Activity #1: Knots
Activity #2: Build a Fire
Discuss fire safety and show girls how to build an “A” frame fire.
Discuss types of wood and safety precautions (place/water/putting out a fire)
Cook hotdogs over an open fire and foil cooking on the grill. (Outdoor Cook) Requirement #2 & 3.
Activity #3: Working with Knives
Activity #4: Camping Safety
Requirement #10 (Outdoor Cook) Purify Water by boiling it.
Requirement #2 (Camp Together) Emergency Procedures.
Activity #5: Kaper Charts (Outdoor Cook) Requirement #6 (Camp Together) Requirement #7.
