First Aid &
Emergency Planning
So you've started planning your campout, you know when, where and what... but have you
planned for an illness or emergency?  Remember that you must have a certified First Aider in
your group!  The First Aider can be a leader, co-leader, or any registered adult member.

Also consider that 'emergency' doesn't necessarily mean injury.  What if your troop is in the
woods and a sudden thunder storm erupts?  What if on your way to or from the camp site
there is a terrible rain storm and the road floods?

When planning for your trip find out the weather forecast and situations prone to the area
you will be in.  Then plan accordingly.  Be prepared and stay calm, this will lessen the chances
of a serious injury.
